The 1936-vintage Kensinger service station, still operating in Grand Island,
Nebraska, as of 2021, serving primarily trucks from nearby UPS and U-Haul locations and other trucking operations along U.S. 30 — the old Lincoln Highway. The white-stucco building has changed little over the years. It's still full service, meaning that the owner or a staffer will come out and pump the gas, clean the front window, and more, if asked. The coffee is free, and one can buy soda (called "pop" hereabouts), candy, and snacks inside. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
