A fiberglass figure of a teenager — unnamed so far as one can tell — sports a college letterman’s sweater emblazoned with an encircled letter T outside the Circle T drive-in restaurant in the central New Mexico town of Belen. Founded in 1958, the restaurant introduced the green-chile cheeseburger to this part of New Mexico, not far from the arid plains where many of the world's chiles of all degrees of hotness are grown.
