A humble sculpture garden in the small south-central New Mexico town of Carrizozo, population 1,000 or so (as of 2021) that was a modestly thriving railroad hub where cattle raised in the vast ranches nearby were shipped off to market. When the railroad went elsewhere, the town declined, only to come to life in early 21st Century when more than 70 artists and their families took up residence and turned it into a growing arts scene.
