Entrance to the La Fonda de Taos Hotel on the plaza, or town square, in Taos, New Mexico, once a sleepy southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains town, inhabited by Native Americans for centuries, that has grown into an art colony, filled with museums and dozens of shops, that is now a worldwide tourist attraction. The property was built as the Columbian Hotel & Bar in 1880. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
