Ceres Hall on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo, a city on the state's eastern border with Minnesota. With 106,000 people (as of 2021), Fargo is, by more than 40,000 population, the largest city in the vast northern plains state that stretches 300 miles west to Montana. Erected in 1915 as the first women's dormitory on the campus, Ceres Hall now houses a number of academic offices. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
