A beautiful, historic, and unusual Victorian-style mansion in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The 7,337-square-foot property was built in 1884 for livestock farmer William Hafer, and it remained in that family until 1946. Later, it deteriorated and was remodeled extensively for many uses—as an ice cream parlor, a candy store, and even a Chevrolet automobile dealership. In 2007, Mary and Angelo Gallantino bought and restored the house to its earlier grandeur. They put it on the market in 2019 after deciding to retire to Florida. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2019.
