Dauphin County, PA - Fort Hunter Barn

The Centennial Barn at Fort Hunter, a historical park in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, near Harrisburg. The site, named for Robert Hunter, a pioneer who settled in the area in the early 1700s, was an important setting during the “War of 1812” between the United States and Britain, which actually did not end until 1815. The barn came much later, in the 100th year of the republic. It housed John Reily’s budding dairy milk business and is now (as of 2019) used for weddings and parties. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2019.
