Children’s Lake beside the Mid-Atlantic regional office of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in Boiling Springs, a village beneath Pennsylvania’s South Mountain, near Harrisburg. The organization helps to conserve the famous footpath in the eastern United States that runs from Maine to Georgia. Founded in 1925, the ATC works to protect the trail's 2,190 miles and coordinates the work of some thirty hiking clubs performing trail maintenance. The trail runs past this location.
