The Friendship Gate, often simplified as the Chinatown Arch, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The arch symbolizes cultural exchange and friendship between Philadelphia and its Chinese sister city of Tianjin. The gate, dedicated on January 31, 1984., is said to be the first authentic Chinese Gate built in America by artisans from China. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2019.
