Front entrance, at the top of long stairs, to the South Dakota Capitol in Pierre. Note that the large, engraved word "South" (in "South Dakota") on the entabulature (the long horizontal band resting on the columns) replaces the letter "U" with a "V," so it reads, for all the world to see: "SOVTH DAKOTA."
