When hunting buffalo, the Sioux would often ride up beside the beast and use sharp spears to kill their prey. Other times Sioux hunters would chase or lead the buffalo towards a cliff or steep hill. At the bottom of the cliff, the hunters would jump on the buffalo and quickly kill them.
