Sioux Sportsmen, 1902, J.A. Anderson.
A Sioux man prided himself on his accomplishments in both warfare and hunting. There were also avid sportsmen. The Sioux gathered wild rice, hunted, and fished on their ancestral lands in Minnesota, but when they moved on to the Great Plains buffalo provided most of their material needs. They also hunted elk, antelope, deer, rabbits, foxes, and coyotes.
