The Silver Dollar Tavern in Old Appleton, Missouri was established by 1948. For years, it served as a local gathering place with pool tables, a dance floor and a bar. In 2015, the city demolished the building fearing someone might get hurt prowling around inside or that vandals might set it on fire, endangering other nearby buildings.
