Witmor Farms, once located on
Route 66 in Waynesville,
Missouri was first built as the second location of the Nickerson Farms chain. These sites, with their red-roofed barn-shaped buildings were popular between the mid-1960s and the early 1980s, with each featuring a full-room restaurant, a gift shop, and gas pumps. In 1963, it was purchased by Ray and Norma Moorman, who renamed it "Witmor Farms" and continued to service travelers for numerous years before the restaurant finally shut down. The building was torn down in September 2014. However, most of the vintage sign still stands, with the word "restaurant" removed.
