A unit of the old Rockwood Motor Court is still (as of 2020) operating in Springfield, Missouri, on a portion of the historic two-lane Route 66 that zigs and zags through town. Known as the “Mother Road,” Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California, was the nation’s first all-paved long-distance highway.
