The historic Ponce de Leon Hotel — since 1968 the flagship building at Flagler College, a liberal-arts college founded in 1968 in St. Augustine, Florida. Most of the campus’s buildings date to the 19th Century, when railroad magnate Henry Flagler built the grand hotel. St. Augustine itself, founded in 1565 by Spanish admiral Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, is the oldest in the Continental United States. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2020.
