The Prentis House in Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. Built in 1715, the house was restored by Colonial Williamsburg over three years, ending in 1940. It was the home of William Prentis, one of the owners of the first general store in the colonial capital. The business prospered to such a degree that when he died in 1756, Prentis had amassed one of the largest personal fortunes in town.
