xxx at Casey Jones Village in Jackson, a city in central Tennessee. John Luther Jones — known as Casey Jones — a railroad engineer who was killed running the "Old 382" engine near Vaughn, Mississippi, on April 30, 1900. The incident, in which Jones died when his passenger train collided with a stalled freight train, was immortalized in a popular folk song, "The Ballad of Casey Jones." Jones's home is the centerpiece of the theme-park village surrounding that house. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
