The original entrance to the Historic Lyric Theater in downtown Miami, Florida's Overtown, a largely African-American neighborhood that was called “Colored Town” in the days of rigid Jim Crow segregation regulations, particularly in the American South, from the late-19th to mid-20th centuries. Built in 1913, the Lyric was the major entertainment center of Miami’s black community.
