Brooklin, NY - Coney Island Arcade Games

Fish-sandwich stand below a sign for the Wonder Wheel, an old-fashioned Ferris wheel on the Coney Island boardwalk in New York City's Brooklyn borough. The area's peninsular residential neighborhood, beach, and historic amusement park on Long Island Sound was originally part of the colonial town of Gravesend. By the mid-19th century, it became a seaside resort, and by the late 19th century, several amusement parks were also built at the location. They were among the first and most popular subjects of early post cards. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2018.
