View of the "Fremont Street Experience" mall in the old, original downtown of Las Vegas, Nevada, on and near Fremont Street — in what seems like a world away from the mega-spectacle of the lavish "Strip" of enormous, glittering hotels and casinos many blocks away. The mall was built in 1995 in the hopes of luring some of Las Vegas's millions of visitors from around the world to parts of the city beyond the Strip.
