Carlisle, PA - Carlisle Indian School Quarters 2 Building

The historic Quarters 2 building within remnants of the Carlisle Indian School, an Indian boarding and industrial school from 1879 through 1918, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This building, in what are now called the “Carlisle Barracks” on the grounds of the U.S. Army War College, had been occupied by both British and Confederate officers during the Revolutionary and U.S. Civil wars, respectively, later housed Richard Henry Pratt, the Indian School’s first superintendent, and his family.
